ATPs

The ATP's are the flag ship of the Multiline post etch punch line. Running at speeds of up to 12 to 14 panels per minute the ATP is a high production precision tooling system. Adjustable punch blocks and multiple position die blocks provide a range of panel sizes from 10" x 12" ( mm x 304mm) to 24" x 30" ( 610mm x 762mm) with special large and extra large formats up to 54". Accuracy is assured in the movable componants by applying the proven tool and die practices of our in-house manufacturing facility. All the tooling componants are precision ground to insure long term repeatability and accuracy.

The main elements of the ATP's are vision supported pre alignment stations for high through put, state of the art vision systems for measuring and alignment of the innerlayers and a precision punch and die system incorporated into a four post die set. The machine is engineered to repeatably punch an accurate registration pattern of 4 slots, 4 slots with additional holes or other tooling patterns. Panels are loaded into the front of the machine by an operator in the ATP-1000, 3000 and 7800 or automatically in the ATP-5000. Once located the panel is automatically aligned to the reference targets, any error in the innerlayers etched target positions is split evenly from the center of the panel and the tooling is punched.

ATP-1000

The ATP-1000 is the least expensive but still offers the speed and precision the ATP has become known for. The 1000 incorporates a manual vision pre-alignment system for the operator to roughly locate the inner-layer on the punch table and a linear positioning system to transport the layer into the machine. To change panel sizes the punch is moved manually by the operator using an adjustment tool. The ATP-1000 is available with 2 cameras or 4 cameras positioned on the X and Y centerlines.

ATP-3000

This unit also utilizes a pre alignment station and linear positioning. The ATP-3000 features automatic panel size selection. When the panel size is selected at the key board, the punch blocks move automatically into position. The 3000 is available in two camera or four camera. (four cameras can be positioned on the same side on the X and Y centerline or 2 top and 2 bottom for providing front to back registration data).

ATP-5000

The ATP-5000 is a fully automated version of the 3000, this unit feature automatic adjusting blocks for changing panel sizes, automatic locating pre alignment station and totally in line processing of panels from a feeder or a DES line. The 5000 is available in two camera or four camera. ( four cameras can be positioned on the same side on the X and Y centerline or 2 top and 2 bottom for providing front to back registration data).

ATP-7800

ATP 7800

The ATP-7800 / 8 camera fixed die, post etch punch incorporates many of the advantages of Multiline's standard line of tooling punches with increased camera capability and decreased tolerances. The 8 cameras are located on centerline, four on top and four on bottom and measure and compare the registration of both sides of the panel. The algorithms allow options of splitting of top and bottom misregistration or just measuring it and punching from the more critical (usually the signal) side of the board. The ATP-7800 is supplied with a pre alignment station, video supported measuring and alignment system and a punch and die system built on a four post die set which is engineered to repeatably punch an accurate registration pattern to a new tighter set of standards.

The ATP-7800 has two centerline target positions (legacy targets) that match the majority of Multiline two camera machines. For companies with existing Multiline post etch punches this allows the 7800 to be used as a back up for two camera and as a new tooling system for jobs requiring multiple cameras.

Some features of the machine are:

  • Precision Die set with bronze bushings and chrome plated pins.
  • Motorized punch position adjustment which utilizes an air bearing for increased accuracy and reduced wear. All upper positions have automatic punch lock systems to eliminate any tolerance from wear.
  • Die positions are fixed (die islands) which are permanently screwed and doweled into place. Maintenance is accomplished by removing the die inserts for sharpening.
  • Linear motors with 10 lb air bearing forcers and vacuum cups accurately move the panels through the machine
  • All panel support areas and upper platen are maximized to insure that the panel is held flat before punching
  • Belt driven system to the exit platform
  • Windows-based software with statistical functions
  • Two nulling algorithms are provided with engineering access
  • High through put of more then 8 panels per minute
  • Panel sizes 16" X 18" to 24" X 30" (304mm x 457mm to 610mm x 762mm) 1" increment adjustments. Large format 30" X 36" (304mm x 457 mm to 762mm x 914mm) and extra large format up to 54" also available.

Machine Specifications:
